The valve system refers to small pieces attached to the flange. It is designed to hold suction power during the aspiration phase of a pumping cycle and let the milk flow into the bottle during the release phase of the cycle.
Two types of valve system are common on the market: valve & membrane and duckbill valve. Maymom develops both of them.
- Valve & Membrane: an assembly of valve (PP) and membrane (silicone).
- Duckbill Valve: the name comes from its shape which looks like a duck beak. Made of silicone.
In some cases, these two types are interchangeable with each other while their suction power may differ slightly.
