A breast shield is used to connect the breast, breast pump (often via tubing), and milk container in a breast pump setup. Different from one-piece flange, detachable breastshield cannot work alone. It must be installed onto a base connector or a closed system connector to do the function.
The detachability brings versatile choices to moms even connectors and pump models remain the same. More available sizes, different design of shape, and less storage space needed.
Breast side – contact with a mother’s breast, areola, and nipple. The size of a breast shield is defined by the diameter of the tunnel entrance, which is essentially associated with pumping comforts.
Find the suitable size of shield (flange) of your own.
Connector side – attach to a base connector. Milk flows from the shield tunnel to the connector and eventually into a container. It’s imperative that the shield side fit tight to the connector.
